Flashes of surging spice and rich honeyed berries light up the palate while rolling smoke rumbles underneath before a delicious chili bite surges forward. Tasting notes - Nose Initially there is sweetness with forest berries crème brûlée banana split American cream soda and butterscotch. However the smoke of roasted pinenuts and hints of aromatic chilli develop and the intensity and power of this dram begins to show. Tasting notes - Palate As with the nose the palate begins gentle with immediate brioche sweetness and banoffee pie with a tropical note of tinned peaches. However it is not long before the true essence of Talisker emerges with sweet maritime notes fresh ginger zest and a crescendo of oak smoke and peppery spice. Tasting Notes – Finish On the finish it is the powerful notes that remain - hot chilli spice and cracked black pepper fading into a waft of distant smoke from the embers of a beach bonfire with a final faint hint of toasted marshmallow.
